Spring Break Thoughts

I spent a few days back home for the later part of Spring Break. While my folks were away at work I was left home alone. I was amazed at how much work I was able to get done! The T.V. was off and I spent the morning reading on the back porch. I forgot just how much I loved a quiet house and am looking forward to having my own place. No more ESPN blasting downstairs when I try to nap!

Touched by an angel?

So I am 99% sure I met an angel this weekend, story to come after graduation...

No Excuses Husker Nation

I keep reading these threads about why Nebraska is not a basketball school AND football school. Yall just sold out to a girl's basketball game and have one of the largest group of tshirt fans in the nation! Nebraska doesn't have any pro teams and would rally around a decent BBall program. I mean white people love basketball! Just look at BYU! My uncle is like 8 feet tall, I know there is some basketball loving blood in there. So stop hiding behind "This is football country" and fork up the money. If you build it...

Suh or Bradford?

Rumors are flying around that the Rams might pick Sam Bradford with their number one pick instead of Suh. With the amount of money that is guaranteed to the number one I'd say Suh is the better pick. I know the Rams are desperate for quarterback but Suh is too talented to pass up. I'd have the Cowboys trade all picks so grab Suh, he's that good.

Been awhile...

I almost forgot I had this thing! I am going to try to keep up with it more so family and friends can know whats going on better than what my status updates tell them. Yesterday was my last Military Ball at Baylor AFROTC and my folks came down to enjoy it with me. The highlight was definitely sending all of my soon to be married friends to drink from the "grog" bowl. The worst part of the night was having a two star general correct my uniform, talk about embarrassing. This next week should be good, I have some opportunities to raise my grade in some of my classes so I am going to take full advantage of that.

Texas Tech 2009

I promised my sister I would give my thoughts about the Raiders this next next season so here we go. Most of my information comes from observations of last season and a die-hard Raider fan whom I went to high school with. The OLine took some big hits with graduation but with a few people moved around it will hold its own against the Big 12 DLines. The success of the raiders lies in the hands on new QB Taylor Potts who has been struggling in Spring practice but with the competition of younger QBs he should be ready come this fall. Look out for freshman receiver Eric Ward to get some playing time. This kid decommitted from OU and should help ease some post-crabtree worries. The defense took some big hits especially in their secondary. They will be young so it looks like the raiders will be known for giving up big plays through the air unless they click very soon. I think the raider offense will have a more balanced run game than in the past. They need to take advantage of an experienced backfield to help offset a rebuilding air attack. All in all the raiders will be decent and could do well. The Big 12 south gets murky at the botton and it should be an interesting battle between Tech, Baylor, and A&M. The top three are pretty much a lock with Texas, OU, ans OSU. I have the Baylor vs. Tech remach circled for many reasons, one of them being that it will be played in the new Cowboy's stadium. I cannot think of a better way to introduce North Texas to the new face of Baylor football. On a side note I worked out with Robert Griffen at the SLC a week before school let out. He has gained about ten pounds and looks like he has baseballs stuffed in his calves. The guy is a straight up man now...he looks damn fast too.
